it appears that there are two versions the same website. one with a nationbuilder tag in the url and one without. The one without doesnt show the page slugs when I navigate other pages. How do I get it to do so.

Hi Josh. It sounds like you have connected a custom domain via a masked web forward. We recommend that you connect your custom domain by either using NationBuilder's nameservers, or using our custom CNAME records. This will ensure your domain is displayed with slugs. It will also mean that if you access the site via the NationBuilder.com address, you will be diverted to your custom domain.
