How/can I upload contacts from an excel spreadsheet?

We have contacts from events/canvassing and its easier if I can mass upload these. How can I set up an excel spreadsheet that I can then sync with NB to log contacts?

You can upload the .csv of the people and in the upload add all to a list - that way you can do a batch update for contact log. 

Here's a suggestion for logging past contacts that you can add your voice to!

    I agree with Arminta. Batch updates are not a solution. Anyone who is using a third party tool to track their contacts will likely end up with a CSV exported from that tool. Whether they’re door knocking, phone banking, a survey, or whatever the case may be. The only way to get that information into NB now is by manually pulling up each contact and entering the information. A function to do a CSV Import of Log Contacts entries would save a ton of work.

    The people are already in the database. So, I’m already segmenting and batch updating them. I’d like to be able to just import the phone call. Each one has a different result and different call notes. Plus there are over 500 of them, so the manually batch updating is tedious because I am having to create a filter with a line item for each ID.

    Would you recommending sorting and separating the spreadsheet prior to the upload and then batch updating each list individually?

    You would import in the data as Brad Marston stated, then batch update the contacts to log that specific activity. I would suggest logging contact as ‘Face to Face’ or ‘Meeting’ and you can state in the text box the specific meeting.

    I don’t believe this answers Taylor’s question. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the Import function doesn’t seem to have fields for Log Contacts entries. (Unless Taylor means People when he says Contacts.)

    Save your Excel spreadsheet as a csv file. Dashboard>People>More>Import. Make sure you have your columns labeled so you can map the fields.
