option to show exact time stamp as opposed to approximation in feeds

In so many feeds around the control panel it says "Joe Doe took an action 5 days ago". This becomes even less precise when you are dealing with months and years.

I know in some cases people prefer approximations here, but in many cases (especially big campaigns that do a lot of fundraising) a precise time stamp would be better. Some kind of global option to go with one or the other would do the trick.

If you hover your mouse over the timestamp, it will give an exact time.

Hey guys, we ran into this question today as well. Any updates?

Importing new private notes

For organizations trying to transfer their databases over to NationBuilder from other platforms this would be a very useful tool. Many databases have extra note fields that organizations populate with important info. When it comes time to move to NationBuilder there is nowhere to put this info other than the background note field, which is usually the first to go. For additional notes you are out of luck.

Being able to import note columns as a new private note would eliminate this issue, and since private notes are unlimited in NB you could import as many different note fields as you'd like.

Choosing Fields for Export

This is an important functionality, especially for the fundraising teams out there. This goes along with the ability to print more detailed reports. The idea here is that before we go to export a particular list we have the ability to select which fields are included in that export.

batch update for event RSVPs

I've found some discussion about this elsewhere on the site but wasn't too clear on the answer.

I have a client that get's a lot of RSVP data from the field. We can import these people as a tag/saved list, but ideally we need to be able to RSVP them to NB events in batch. Otherwise we are just going to have to resort to using saved lists as RSVP lists and keep the NB event RSVP lists strictly for online sign-ups.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

Official response from not planned

At this time, RSVPs for an event are not able to be imported. If you feel that this is a feature we should consider adding, feel free to add your support to the existing question request at:

(Or you could put it in as a new feature request at http://nationbuilder.com/suggest

I’ve seen this too with the inbound emails we’ve set up.

Ability to mark donations as "PAC" and "In-kind"

Maybe there is a way to do this already? Tracking codes won't cut it in this instance. I would suggest something like the FEC type drop-down, and instead make it a Contribution type.

In the past we requested the ability to mark donations as "corporate" and got that check box. Any of these solutions is fine here.

Deleting donor records?

Hi all,

I'm trying to delete some donor records from a NB database.

I see that when I go into the individual profile for a donor and go to edit, the "Delete [PERSON NAME]" button that usually appears in the bottom right corner does not.

I tested this with Batch Delete by creating a list of donors and trying to Batch Delete them and it basically went through the motions, telling me it was deleting them, but didn't. That definitely comes off as a glitchy.

I presume this has to do with these people being linked to their respective donations, if they were deleted the donations would have no host record. So this leads me to a bigger question that started this, how do I Batch Delete donations from my database?

Official response from C.J. MinsterCheng completed

We do not recommend deleting donation records from a nation. This will make the nation's financial history incomplete and can cause problems when doing financial reporting for an organization.

Some customers inadvertently deleted donations from their nation by deleting the people associated with those donations. To prevent this from happening, the Delete button is not available on a user profile if donation records are attached to that profile. Similarly, if you batch delete a list of people, any people on that list who have donation records will not be deleted.

While we do not recommend it, if you truly want to delete people and their donation history, you will need to use the following process:

1. Manually delete each donation record associated with the person

2. The person record can then be deleted individually or through a batch delete process

Donations going through with incomplete zips

I just tried it an it seems to be the case. Can we fix this? Thanks

Make it easy to remove breadcrumbs (sub-nav menu)

I find many people don't need these breadcrumb links on thier sub-pages. There should be away to easily remove them site-wide in Pages> Settings, so folks don't have to go into the template.
