Can survey questions on scannable sheets modify contact support levels?

I have put together a survey for an election campaign which canvassers will use on the door to gauge support for the candidate. The main line of questioning goes like: 'Can we count on your support for candidate X on election day? If so would you like to volunteer, and if not who are you supporting?' I can handle the volunteer thing with paths and steps, but the support levels, it seems, are just another question that gets added to the contact's activity stream, like their opinion on pharmacare and whatever. Is there a way that when a canvasser marks "1 - Strong Support" on the response sheet, it can change the contact's support level when scanned into NationBuilder?

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to update people fields like this via a scanned survey. You can only submit answers to the survey itself, which can apply tags.
