commented on Custom Field Data Being Removed During Merge
We have data coming from 3 sources in addition to the website, so merging records is critical for our operation. Some of this data goes into custom fields and is lost during merge operations. At a minimum, the following rules should be followed during a merge.
1) if a field in the From record is blank, do not merge (leave the To field alone);
2) if a field in the From record has data, copy the data to the To field.

There are other operations that could be considered on a field by field basis – math, concatenate, replace, date logic (use earlier/later date), etc.

Issue: How can I filter for whether or not people have a facebook username? There is no “exists” option on the filter.

commented on custom fields need to allow a field type of date
1. imports should also be smart about this field and convert data to a date. If it doesn’t convert, leave it blank.
2. it would be nice to have a conversion program that would 1) redefine the field as a date and 2) convert all the data in this field to dates.

commented on merge duplicate records from saved list
It might also be helpful to be able to specify which two records to merge. Merge record 12345 into 67890. Display the name, address, csz, email, phone, etc before merging with an option to cancel.
