How to set 'last_contacted_by'

We are trying to set this field on update. We set id to an existing person is, however do not see this was reflected on the updated person page.

"last_contacted_by ": { "id": "XXX"  }

    Hello, can you just tell me if the ‘last_contacted_by’ can be updated from the people update API and what are minimum set of fields should be set in this ‘Abbreviated Person Resource’ in order it got to the person’s profile?
