I can't seem to be able to get the headlines to display above the sliding content - do they have to be a certain length before they display?

Hi Jamie,
Headline / Action text is not included with the featured content sliders on the Victory theme. You may want to try adding the text to your images before uploading them. You can learn more about Victory, and all of our themes, under the stock theme guidelines.
