Hey Kenny – the default thumbnail for each site can be uploaded under Site settings > Logo under that website. You can manage all of the default posts for a site under the Social tab. What it seems like you’re hoping for is a place to manage the defaults for all of this across all sites, which isn’t currently possible. You should absolutely add a suggestion to our public issues page, where we crowdsource feedback from the community about how we might improve the product: http://nationbuilder.com/suggest.

Thanks, I understand your problem better now, and I’m sorry that this has been hindering your work. The reason we require a state along with a county_file_id is to avoid unwanted merging of records on import (county_file_id might not be a true unique identifier in a US nation that has people from multiple counties and/or states). I haven’t heard a lot of people outside of the US wanting to use county_file_id, but please do add a suggestion explaining what you’re trying to accomplish at http://nationbuilder.com/suggest and I or another member of the Product team will respond.

To be clear, the only thing NationBuilder does is set the page’s image meta tag URLs for Facebook to pick up (either to your site’s default image or the one you’ve specifically uploaded to that page). The choice to use or ignore the meta image is on Facebook’s end.
Also thought it would be worth including Facebook’s best practices for image sizing: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices#images.
