In the meantime, I would check to see if your payment processor has test numbers you can use to check your account. That would allow you to test the donation process, including receipts. Here is a list from PayPal: https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/vhelp/paypalmanager_help/credit_card_numbers.htm.
