How do I separate an individual's records back into the two original records that were combined?

If you've merged two people into one record, you will need to create a "new person" for one and create that record with the new information, then delete the erroneous information from the merged record. There is not an automatic function to unmerge records that have been combined using the deduplication function.

    So there isn’t a way to do this, right? You just need to create a new record and hope that you still have the correct data. I ask because i just merged two files, one that had a DOB of 1/1/1900 and another that had the real DOB. When I merged it went back to age 116. Seems like there should be an automated setting that when merging 2 records that either the 1/1/1900 DOB automatically gets over-written – or at least that info comes up in a option for the person merging the records to choose which one to accept.
