how do I change the order of the subpages in the top nav?

In your website > top nav you can drag and drop the items! If you are looking to change the order of the drop down menu you will need to go to the page settings - Posts & subpages > Subpages > Sub nav pages to drag and drop.

    I experience no ability to drag & drop at step #4. Has something changed since your comment (Dec, 2011)?

    1. Click on main Pages button
    2. Click on the number in parentheses. For instance, if you have a Volunteer page with 4 subpages, click on the “4” in “volunteer (4).”
    3. Click on “Sub nav pages” (to the left of the currently-selected “Active pages”)
    4. Drag and drop to change the order the pages
