Hey Kristin,

Where this is edited can change on a per-theme basis; would you mind letting us know what specific Nation/site this is for so I can direct you to exactly where you can edit that text? Feel free to respond in the comments below or by e-mailing your organizer with the info.

How do i bring volunteer signup roles - check boxes to Home page volunteer signup form?

completed

Hey Baskar,

You're on the right track! The issue you're running into is that you're including a partial template without linking it to a specific page to collection that information from. On the homepage, when you include your partial, you need to call it via the "subpage" method, where you associated the slug of a page to receive the information with a partial that collects it. In this case, you'll want to create a volunteer pagetype that you'll control all the tagging, followup, point person, etc assignments from, and then include both it and the partial on the homepage like this:

{% subpage "slug_of_volunteer_page" with "slug_of_partial_template" %}

Hope that helps!

How can I include input variables for City & State in the signup page

completed

Hi Udeze, there needs to be a prefix on those calls for individual address fields; note that we only allow the one-line address field for user-submitted-addresses, but you could ask for billing, mailing, registered, or home addresses by using the appropriate prefix. eg. text_field "city" should be text_field "billing_address.city". If you look at the stock template for a Donation pagetype, you'll see a lot of examples of these liquid calls in use.

Displaying a single random slide from the content slider?

completed

Hey Mat,

While we don't have any native functionality to allow you to display a random featured content slider (FCS), it is easy to make one FCS (or set of slides) appear on multiple pages using the {% subpage %} tag to display content from a dedicated FCS page on other pages. You can find instructions on how to do that here.

Hope that helps!

What is the best way to add a sticky menu to a NationBuilder theme?

completed

Hey Kathryn,

The only thing I'd make sure of is that the sticky button either occupies an empty spot in the topnav bar, or at least doesn't obscure the links in the topnav.

Have you considered having the escape button live at the bottom-right hand corner of the screen, similar to a "jump to top of page" button on longer news articles? For example, this website has a green button at the bottom-right of the page that appears when you scroll down and acts as a quick "jump top top" button. That would make sure that you're not covering topnav items with the escape button.

Set the author link

completed

If you want to change one page, you'll want to adjust the template of the page on your website. If you want to make adjustments that will be reflected across your entire site, you'll want to adjust your page templates at the theme level. See http://nationbuilder.com/theme_documentation for more info on creating custom themes.
