How do I change which page is my home page?

Currently, the home page is Blog.  I want to set Home as my home page; is this possible?

Hi Sherri,

You can set any page to be your nation's home page, but it the page must be published first. From your control panel, go to Pages and select the page you want. Then click on Settings. At the bottom on the right is a check box to "Make this the home page." Check that box, then click "Save page."

Your new home page will be set. Please note that you are required to have a home page at all times so once you select your home page the only way to change it is to select a different page as your home page.

    Luke – you’ll need to make another page your home page – you have to have a home page so there isn’t a way to turn it ‘off’ rather you replace it with another. So you can create a new page or you can make whichever page was your home page your home page again! Hope that helps.

    I made an event subpage a homepage as a test to make it more prominent, but it seems to be a one-way street! I am not sure what my previous home page was. Any suggestions by Nationbuilder organisers or users? Many thanks.

    One important piece that is missing in this official response is that once you have clicked the check box to make a the home page, it disappears from the page settings page. In other words there is no way to immediately unset from the same page once it has been set. In order to stop having a page be the home page for your site (or UNset it), you have to go to a new (or old) page that you want to make the home page and check the box on that page.

    Probably makes sense to most but might have been a helpful tip to explain whatever page you want as a home page needs to be an existing published page first!

    Caleb — Is the new page published? Is it viewable by “anyone?” Is it a subpage of another page? All of these things might make it not able to be the homepage.

    some pages have the ‘make this the homepage’ option and others do not.
    The theme I’m using defaults the ‘About’ page as the homepage; I’ve created a new basic page but the option to change it to my homepage does not appear under its settings. (it does appear under the settings of an event page I recently created.)

    how can I get the option to show?

    Scott — I’ve updated the answer above to include a screenshot, which hopefully will help. If you’re not seeing the checkbox depicted above, it’s possible that: (a) your page may not be published or (b) your page may be a subpage, in which case it could not be the homepage.
