The more you know about your potential supporters the easier it is to engage with them on the issues they care about. NamSor can help with a simple but important part of that by inferring gender and ethnicity/origin data about the people in your NationBuilder database. NamSor uses specialized data mining software that recognizes the linguistic or cultural origin of personal names in any alphabet or language.
To take advantage of this integration:
Step 1: Navigate to NamSor and select 'Login' from the top navigation menu. If you don't have an account register and NamSor will send you an email link to confirm your account. Select the link and login to NamSor. Select the option to sync NamSor with your nation. Enter your nation slug and select 'Login'.
Step 2: After you login to your nation and authenticate your account, you will land back on NamSor's site. NamSor will index all the lists in your nation and allow you to pick the list you want to enrich with their data. From here you can choose whether you want to enrich your nation with gender or origin data.
Step 3: Once you choose which data you want enriched, NamSor will start working on updating your database. When the process is complete, you will receive an email from NamSor letting you know your data has been enriched. When you login to your nation again you will notice that gender and ethnicity/origin data will be appended to each record in your nation.
