What's the priority level feature and how do I use it?

Official response from Gavin DeSchutter

The priority level feature allows you to categorize the importance of a supporter or prospect for your organizing efforts. A priority level can be set to a value of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 with 1 being the lowest priority and 5 being the highest priority.

priority level can be set in four places:

  • via an import. Mapping "priority_level" will set a priority level for a user record upon import. The value must be either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5;
  • via a list batch update. A list of user records can have priority levels set all at once. This can be done by going into a list and clicking "Batch Update" > "People", then changing the "Priority level" drop down menu to the desired priority level;
  • in the individual user record. The priority level can be set under the "Edit" tab in the user's record;
  • and using a contact form in the user record. Clicking "Log Contact" while in a user record will bring up a form that allows you to log a contact you made with the user. At the bottom you will see a drop down menu that allows you to change priority level of the user record upon submission of the contact.

The priority feature will also auto sort people of like followup dates. For example: if a group of user's have an initial outreach followup set for today NationBuilder will automatically put the user record with the highest priority first in the view followed by the user record with the next highest priority level.
