How to fix 302 HTTP Code (Temporary Redirect)?

Hi There, I have updated my DNS to Nationbuilder's nameservers. When doing so, the domain now returns a 302 - Temporary Redirect code when the site is accessed. This creates a problem when search engines index the website. It appears that the site is only temporary and will not rank well against key search terms, in this case, it's on page 3 when my own name is searched. As a candidate, that's really poor performance. The problem is on the server side of the hosting. I've checked 3 other sites hosted by Nationbuilder and they are all returning 302 redirects. Nationbuilder, this needs to be fixed quickly!

You are correct, NationBuilder automatically places a 302 direct that directs people from the http version of your site to the https version of your site.

This is to ensure users are always directed to the secure version of your website. It sounds like you would prefer for a permanent 301 redirect to be placed on the http version of the site rather than the 302.

I can understand your concern. Hopefully, search engines are indexing the secure version of your site and thus not affecting the SEO ranking of the http version of your domain.  We'll be sure to pass along your feedback to our engineers.
