I would like to nominate our President, Robert Ruiz. He is a profound leader in our community and helps so many families speak up for their children’s education. He is the kindest man I know and continues to support his team with unparalleled empathy and support. He is a leader who advocates for equity in education and for parents to have a voice when it comes to anything related to children’s education. He has been published in local news stations such as The Oklahoman, The Journal Record and more advocating for equity in everything related to education. He is a wonderful man, father, leader and advocate for positive change in our community and without him so many children would go un-noticed and un-heard in our town. Additionally, when he sees a problem, he fixes it! He, along with other parent leaders in our community started a school focusing on Spanish Heritage in Okc. through a program with Epic schools called Heritage Academy. I trust these things mentioned are only the tip of the ice burg when it comes to how much he has given back to our community.
