commented on New and improved theme development with Dropbox
We were pretty excited about this update since it would allow our developers on PC to get on board with theme-syncing. However, after trialling it for a few weeks now, we’ve decided to disconnect from Dropbox. I’m not sure if it’s because we’re based in Australia, but we’ve found that there’s way too much latency and caching going on with this system to make it useful for efficient development.

Worse yet, the need to publish theme changes (and then confirm the publishing!) from within the Nation itself is a real pain and slows things down even further.

Considering all this, it’s a shame you’ve decided to cancel service for the Mac ThemeSync app.

I’m open to further developments for this Dropbox solution, but where it stands now, it’s much less frustrating and more efficient to just make edits directly to theme files in NationBuilder and use Git to handle version-control when necessary.

We really should be able to change the number of events queried on calendar pages like we can with posts on blog pages.

My problem is basically the opposite to Bob’s below: I’m trying to reduce the events queried to 5 while retaining pagination functionality.

I can “limit” the event forloops to 5, but this doesn’t seem to work with pagination. The pagination section just never appears (I assume it’s still working off of the default limit of 10).

The only option seems to be using “events_all” to get every event and then building my own JS/jQuery-based pagination system for calendar pages, which seems excessive.

I’ve just received some notification emails from the Google Search Console Team regarding a number our clients’ sites on NationBuilder informing me that starting in October, non-HTTPS secured sites will have a warning of “NOT SECURE” displayed when users enter their details into forms.

Seems like a good time to ask, again, what is NationBuilder doing to make HTTPS encryption available to all of its clients with custom domains?

“phone_number” doesn’t appear to be a valid form field for Feedback pages (nor is “work_phone_number”, though this field isn’t documented, so not surprising). It seems “mobile_number” is the only viable phone field option on Feedback pages, and it’s not documented.

I’ve applied the supporters_count variable to a template file and it worked initially, displaying the supporters count as expected, but the value hasn’t updated since then even though more supporters have been added to the nation. Anyone know why this would be the case?
