You can minimize the people who can view a site from the site settings area. Go to Website > [Name of site] > Site settings > Basic. 

There is a "Who can view this site?" dropdown menu. By default, it is set to anyone. You can change this to logged in, members, control panel users, or admins. 

If you are still working on the site and not ready for it to be indexed by search engines, you'll also want to uncheck the box next to "Allow search engines."  

Click the "Save site" button to save your changes. Be sure to change these global settings before announcing your site publicly.
