I really want to take advantage of NationBuilder's recruiter tracking features, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to get my supporters to drive folks to the site via their Public Profiles.
How can I provide each supporter with their own, personalized recruiter link without asking them to go to the site and retrieve it themselves?
Recruiter tracking in NationBuilder is incredibly powerful, and can be logged through a variety of methods. The most powerful of these, of course, is organically via the "recruiter link."
Every supporter in your nation has their own, personalized recruiter link. This link allows them to share your nation with their personal network and track who clicked through and became a supporter.
Your supporters can find this link in a few places: on a recruiting page, on their public profile (by clicking on the donation button with the activity feed) and when they share one of your pages on social media.
Recruiter links adhere to the following pattern:
http://www.yournation.com/?recruiter_id={{ signup.id }}
If you'd like to share your supporters' personalized recruiter links with them directly, one option is to send it to them in an email blast.
One of the liquid variables that's available in email blasts is 'recipient.id', which is — in fact — identical to that supporter's signup.id. Therefore, you can use the recipient.id attribute to email each of your supporters their own recruiter link to share with their friends.
To create this link, add the following to your email blast:
http://www.yournation.com/?recruiter_id={{ recipient.id }}
You'll need to add the link using the HTML button in the content editor pane. This will create a distinct URL for each recipient of the blast that they can forward, tweet or otherwise share with their network.

@ian has also done something sort of similar to track add conversions as well. http://the.beag.co/tracking-ad-conversions-with-recruiter-ids

To repeat the question verbatim:
I have included http://www.mydomain.com/?recruiter_id={{ recipient.id }} as suggested in a couple of email blast tests and never see the ID displayed, the URL always ends without the ID present. Has the functionality changed as described above?
Thanks!
