UK based customers were unable to record canvas data accurately, as two new political parties recently emerged in the UK and our political party codes were outdated. They are now up-to-date.
We've updated the functionality surrounding automatic donation autoresponse emails to make them optional. You can uncheck the box next to "Automatically send donors an email" if you would like this function turned off. This is helpful if you use donation pages for paid event RSVP's, or if your payment processor already sends a confirmation receipt and you want to reduce the number of notification emails supporters receive.
We've made it possible to add a "Name" to an email blast, as we know using "Slug" was confusing. The slug still exists and is editable, but when creating an email blast, you can input a "Name" similar to what you do when you create pages. "Name" will also be what you search now rather than slug. Any previous filters you have set up will still work in the same manner you set them up!
We've moved a few things around in the Settings tab to make it more intuitive, as well as give the plethora of information stored here some space. So, we've moved "Contacts and billing" to the avatar menu in the top right corner of the page. We also gave "Phone numbers" its own tab, and renamed "Defaults" to "Nation Defaults."
[Website] We've revamped the donation autoresponse email template so the overall look of the receipt is much cleaner!
[People] Batch update now offers the ability to delete IDs. This includes: civicrm_id, county_file_id, datatrust_id, dw_id, external_id, nbec_guid, ngp_id, pf_strat_id, rnc_id, rnc_regid, salesforce_id, state_file_id, van_id. Please contact our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org with the list of people you'd like to clear this data for.
[All sections] We've fixed our filtering date comparisons as some customers were seeing strange behavior where, for example, a membership that started on a particular date would still show up in an after search for that same date. Basically, there was an overlap in the “occurs on X date” and “occurs after x date" (e.g. 12-25-2019 at 2AM is after 12-25-2019 00:00:00 UTC, so it would show up in a filter for “after Christmas” despite still being “on Christmas”). This is no longer the case!
[Website] Ticket levels that offer more than 1 ticket per purchase now have those additional tickets counted towards the RSVP count and are shown as additional guests for that user, like a +1 does.
[Communication] By popular demand, we've moved the Recipients tab to make it a later step in the email process. Create your email, then select your audience right before you're ready to send!
[Communication] We fixed an issue in the email content editor where highlighting text was not working if done from bottom to top.
[People] Changed "Gender" to "Sex" in import/export dropdown menus to match .CSV file format.
[Communication] Smart fields make it easier than ever to personalize your emails! These fields use data from your NationBuilder database to dynamically populate text in your email content. Smart fields help personalize your message by crafting messages that feel 1:1, but can be created once and sent en masse. Y
[Communication] Don’t see the button you’re looking for? We’ve moved the image, button, table, and horizontal line buttons on the email toolbar to a new menu, + Add!
[Communication] We also added a new pop-up menu for images and links which gives you single click editing right in your content editor. 💥
[Communication] We made a tiny update to the A/B email test results page. We removed some duplicate rows to make it easier to read!
[Settings] A small change has been made on the Billing > Phone numbers page that now requires you to enter the phone number exactly how its written to delete it. This includes any symbols, i.e. plus signs.
[Website] The recruitment page type got a little work done! We changed the Facebook "Like" button to a "Share to FB" link, as well as removed the "Send a private message on Facebook" and Google+ links because those features have been terminated by Facebook/Google.
[People] We fixed some missing translations on all non-english language views of the Control Panel within Paths & Goals.
[Website] We've removed the word "donation" from the donation page autoresponse text and .PDF printable receipts (since this page type is also used for membership sales and paid event checkout).
[Communication] The email content preview got a facelift! We also added a text preview, as well as updated the buttons! It's lookin' so fresh and so clean!
[Communication] Predictive hyperlinking and code/code sample fonts have been added to the content editor!
If you have headings in your content, the "Insert link" tool will populate them when you click inside the URL box. In case you're linking them to say, a table of contents. Pretty fancy, right?
[Communication] Have you noticed the shiny new button in the toolbar of the content editor? Wondering what it does? Its the "button" button! It will allow you to easily create a custom button to place in your email blasts! You can customize the text, color, shape, set the link, and more.
[Website] We've added the ability to set “Amount raised” and “Number of Donors” goals to Donation V2 pages! Get your goal on! Bowchicka wow wow!
Click here to learn how to update your custom theme to add this feature (if your custom theme was created before today).
[Website] Have you ever wanted to create a new page on your site based on one that already exists, but without the hassle of having to copy and paste everything over? Good news, now you can! Using NationBuilder's page cloning tool, you can quickly create a copy of an existing page! You can clone the following page types: basic, petition, donation v2, signup, volunteer, surveys, and blog post pages. Fiiiinnnallllyy, am I right?!
[All sections] *Drumroll please* We've updated the WYSIWYG toolbar so it now follows you down the page as you create content for your emails and pages! No more scrolling back and forth or toggling to full screen!
[People] You will no longer see deleted events in your event filter!
[People] Wondering where the path view button ran off to? It shall only reveal itself once you've solved the following riddle...just kidding! The path view button now only displays once you've chosen a path by clicking on the path picker button.
[Settings] You can now update the name and processing type for all consent subjects! Hallelujah!
[Website] We've added a check for recurring donations into the stock text on a donation's autoresponse email template. This allows you to customize autoresponse emails for recurring vs. one-time donations that come from the same donation page. Get personal!
[Website] We've removed the 'Search' tab under the Website section. Why? Because it ran the same way as the search bar at the top right corner of that page! No need fo cluttter!
[Settings] We've added the ability to delete consent subjects! (Finally!) Note, you can only delete consent forms that do not have any data associated with them, this means no saved filters for a consent subject, no forms that use a consent subject, and no users that have given a response to a consent subject. If the consent subject is being used in any of the ways just described, the trash can is disabled.
[Website] Unsubscribe pages are now available in more languages. This also includes the subject line for password reset emails. You can make the change in Website > Site settings.
[Settings] You can now see the fees associated with your NationBuilder Payment Processor in Settings > Payment processors AND your donation page will say 'Billing Address' to make it clear to your donors that that's the address you are looking for. Thank goodness!
[People] Removed the ability to sort by 'Membership started at' in various dropdown menus (since it did not work as expected).
[Website] Now, when a person takes action on a Vote Pledge page, it will update the page’s vote pledge counter accordingly — without altering their support level (1-5 score).
Previously, when a person submitted or changed a vote pledge, this would update their support level, and corresponding support status — overwriting any support level data they may have had in your nation.
[People] Since Klout is no longer a thing, we've removed it from NationBuilder. You will no longer see Klout on a broadcaster, profile or filter.
[People] We have removed the ability to share lists and filters.
[People] When searching for a person in quick search if they didn't have a photo the default icon was a building, wouldn't it be better if it was a person? Now it is!
[Settings] We added Democracy Engine's terms of service to the back end so that users cannot edit this third party TOS.
[People] When exporting households from a list the export will now only include signups on that list.
[Settings] NationBuilder's integrated payment processing is now available to customers in the Great White North (aka Canada)!
[Website] V2 donation pages now allow you to put someone on a path AND a step when they donate!
[Settings] We've made it easier to gather and manage consent, as you can now add consent forms to any action page! Get your consent on!
[Website] In relation to the feature above, we've added the ability to remove email/text opt in checkboxes from all pages.
[People/Finances] We've removed the "Add everyone to list" feature from import screens, this will allow the import tools to run much faster. You can still create lists by applying a tag from the import and adding everyone to a list afterward, or running a filter for imported (specific file) if your import didn't update anyone.
[Settings] We've released a new feature to allow you to set up an analytics/cookie consent banner if you're using analytics tools (Google Analytics or Chartbeat) on your NationBuilder site!
[People] We've added some new features around deleting and permanently deleting profiles from NationBuilder, click here for the nitty gritty!

[People] We've updated consent filters to make it easier to use the data you've collected. Hallelujah!
[Communication/Website] Email and content scheduling is available for all nations! Schedule to your heart's content!
[Finances] Under Finances > Tracking codes, there is a column for 'Pages,' which was displaying blank at all times, even when the tracking codes were associated with pages. This is no longer the case!
[Settings] We take data privacy very seriously, and we have created some new advanced privacy tools that you can use in addition to your existing ability to collect consent from your users. So, now you can turn on advanced privacy to create consents and create/send consent forms! *Mic Drop*

Which will look similar to this to your supporters:
[Finances] We've added a handy dandy search bar on the Finances > Tracking Codes page so you can do a quick search for a tracking code. Enter a keyword in the search bar and press enter for easy access!
[People] We've updated the subnavigation in the People section to give you quick click access Point people, Imports, Exports and Memberships. Woot!
[People] We've added additional information to the "Are you sure you want to delete XX?" confirmation box to warn control panel users of exactly what information will be removed or anonymized in your Nation if you choose to remove the profile. Now you know exactly what you're doing when you press that delete button! 😮
[Finances] An update has been made to our API to restrict the maximum number of donation results per page to 100.
