Our team has been busy preparing the tools and processes to help all our customers comply with GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulation), which takes effect on May 25th. Today, I’m happy to announce that you can start using the first of NationBuilder’s suite of advanced privacy tools.
These new features allow you to run “re-permissioning campaigns” to:
- Provide a form where your people can give you explicit, auditable permission to communicate with them and to process their data within your nation
- Get and track consents to communicate with people in your nation for different reasons (like marketing, volunteer opportunities, events, etc.)
- Map the consents that you obtain to the NationBuilder features you use (including email, text, and NationBuilder Match)
Work is also underway for additional advanced privacy features, including tools to manage consent opt-ins in your nation’s control panel, view consents on an audit log, and export consents. We’ll also be adding tools to help you fulfill requests for people in your nation to access and download their data, have their data erased, and restrict use of their data.
Our team is working diligently to deliver more tools over the coming weeks. I’ll email for the biggest feature releases, but we’ll also be posting all updates to our new release notes page as soon as features go live.
If you’re gearing up for GDPR, we’re here to help. Join our upcoming events for additional support, whether it’s via recorded webinar today, in person in London tomorrow, May 2nd, 6:00 pm local time; or online every Tuesday at 9:00 am PDT / 4:00 pm UTC in the countdown to May 25th.
