What fields are available for imports?

A:

Below is a list of the fields supported for standard imports. Many of these are uncommon and you won't need to worry about them.

Click here for more info on donor history imports; and here for voter data import info, which requires our campaign edition (voter personal information and voting history are imported separately under the voter data import). And here's a look at the paths for starting a standard import.

Please do not use fields as proxies for other data - doing so will confuse important dependencies and make it more difficult to manage your nation. Tags are a good place to store extra data points, and you can add multiple tags separated by commas. We are regularly expanding our support for data needed to run your nation - if you have questions, drop us a line at help@nationbuilder.com. You can also suggest new features related to imports.

.CSV imports are limited to 20mb per file - if your list is larger than that, you will need to divide it into multiple files.

You need the campaign addon enabled to import voter districts, and if you want to import federal and state upper/lower (as opposed to just all the rest), you will need to turn off automatic districting, as otherwise NationBuilder will automatically populate those fields for you. You can turn it off under Settings > Campaign.

We used to be able to do standard imports that included voter districts (e.g. address_state_lower_district) but now I don’t see that in the import mapping pull-down menus. Am I missing something? How do I import files with voter district information?

The first email will be the default for sending through NationBuilder, but you can add up to three email addresses using the same “email” header on the each column.

If you have multiple email addresses for the same person in your database, is there a way to format the fields for import into Nationbuilder? Like an email1 or email_work?
