When you sign-up for the basic plan for independents ($19/mo; up to 10,000 supporters), you are getting every single feature NationBuilder has to offer except blast email, text messaging, and the campaign add-on.

There is no other distinction, feature wise, between the basic plan and the other more expensive plans. The distinction is solely based on how many supporters are in your database. If you want to start building your nation from scratch this is the way to go.

Standard NationBuilder plans come with a 14-day free trial. You'll be able to check out all the functions except for full email and text blasting. Before the trial ends, you'll get a notice by email to the address you set up the account with. The trial period begins after you complete installation of your nation.

The base price of NationBuilder depends on how many supporters you have. A supporter is anyone who is subscribed to your email updates, following you on Twitter and receiving text messages. It does not include prospects (such as people on your voter list).

With NationBuilder's blast email service you pay for the number of email opt-ins in your database. The the price of your blast email service is a monthly charge that is additional to whichever plan you are using.

For example, if you have 75,000 people in your database, but you only have emails for 5,000 of those people, you are paying $49/mo in addition to your basic plan.

How many times you email people during the course of any given month will not affect the price of your plan, only the number of people with emails in your database will.

You can, for example, turn off your email blasting service on any given month you are not using it, and then turn it on again when you are.

Additional websites under the same NationBuilder account are $9/mo. This means that these websites will be sharing a NationBuilder control panel and database. The pages of your individual websites will be kept separate in the control panel for you to easily manage and make theme adjustments to each website. It's also easy to separate people in your database that are coming in from different websites using tags and saved lists.

Most of the features of NationBuilder are useful for political campaigns, but there are a few that are only useful to political campaigns, so we have separated those out into a special campaign addon.

No. A credit card is required to process your monthly NationBuilder bill. 

If you sign up for a nation but don't install it, we will delete the install after 30 days. If your nation is overdue, you will receive notices and we will delete it after 60 days.

Paused nations are presently kept indefinitely free of charge, and if we change that in the future we will give you ample notice.
