When making an change, especially batch update/deletes, get a message that the change is in process and may take a few minutes to complete.
How do we know when it is complete?
Is it okay to do other things such as updates, saving, navigating away from the page, or signing out?

When a task is being run in batch mode, you can change pages, do updates, and sign out. None of those activities will impact the execution of the change.
If you are batch deleting, you can tell when the delete is done by viewing the list itself. When the number of people in the list reaches zero, the deletion is completed.
For batch updates, you can check the first and last profiles in the list. If the change has been made in both profiles, the update has completed.
