who to notify when...

I see that NationBuilder offers to notify leaders or staffers if someone signs a petition, but I don't see that option for when someone signs up as a volunteer. Wouldn't that option be valuable?

In the page you'll want to add yourself as a follower. So you can go to the page > followers and add yourself.

The important thing to note is that you'll need to make sure that in your nation settings > defaults > basics the option for "Disable email notifications from NationBuilder to control panel users" is unchecked.

Adriel, I think you may be mistaken. I have not been getting emails based on being a point person. In fact, the volunteer & signup pages lack a field that is present on petition pages explicitly for this. Under “petition details” > “settings” there is a pull down in the lower right labeled “Who to notify when someone signs” which lists people and their email addresses. It is this I was thinking would be useful on “volunteer signup” pages and “signup” pages (and maybe others).

Go to Pages and select the drop-down for page type Volunteer Sign-up. Edit the page you want notifications from, click Volunteer settings, and pick a person (who has to have control panel access) to assign new volunteers to. That person will get an email anytime someone signs up to volunteer.
