We're using a Blog page type for our press releases. We've had no issues modifying the blog index page to remove the "Posted By" part of the byline so it shows only our formatted date. But when someone clicks on a press release/blog title to go to that full article/release, the full page of course still shows the byline with the poster. It's a press release--who posted it is irrelevant.
I see that I can change the byline on the page template for every individual press release page. But that would be a ROYAL pain if it had to be done for every press release, every time we publish one.
How can I remove the "Posted by" part of the byline from all of the full page article displays for this particular blog?
Dan,
It looks like you may not be using the best page-type for your press releases. NationBuilder comes with a built-in press release page type.
The press release page type is designed to pull the name, phone and email from the author as a contact person, and the author (for a blog post or press release) can be anyone, not just the person logged in. Here is a sample press release page: http://www.abeforprez.com/press_release
Your options are
- Continue using the blog page type and editing the byline individually.
- Switch to the different page type
- Edit the theme template for the blog page
If you want to edit the theme template, you can make the change and it will affect all blog post pages on the website. You can find those theme templates under Pages>Theme. Please note that you'll need to be using a custom theme to edit the options for all posts. These are the templates related to blogs:
Blog
pages_show_blog.html (sidebar)
pages_show_blog_wide.html (no sidebar)
Blog Post
pages_show_blog_post.html (sidebar)
pages_show_blog_post_wide.html (no sidebar)
If you want to only affect the particular blog, you can do so using liquid conditionals. You can find information on how those work here, and here.
Thanks.

In any event though, here’s the problem….I was originally using the Press Release page type. But that seems to only be a single page press release. Unless I am mistaken, there is NO page type that automatically shows an index of all the press release page types. Is this correct?
What we need:
1. An index page of sorts (like a blog page type) that lists all of the press releases we’ve issued, sorted by date
2. Individual press release pages — presumably one press release type subpage for each release.
How can I use your press release page type and get an an index page of all the releases?
