Why can't a blog post be higher in the menu?

On our site, our topnav includes a Newsroom menu.  Under that menu, we have pages for In the News, Public Events, Press Kit, Twitter Feed, Facebook Page, and Press Releases.

Press Releases is a blog page type.  And when I go to Subpages > Sub nav pages for the Newsroom to reorder the menu items, I have Press Releases moved right to the top.  But no matter where it is ordered in the list, it always appears as the LAST menu item.  Blog page types can't seem to be ordered higher in the list.

This is a notable usability deficiency...press releases are the single most important content in our Newsroom, and should not be ranked last on the list.

Can this be fixed somehow?
