In many cases it's helpful to have your information on a website when you complete an action. For example, if you are signing a petition or RSVPing to an event and you want your network to know that you have participated. 

We also use this feature on our own suggestion page to help our Product Team prioritize issues as they come in, we pay close attention to the number of reactions on an issue. Another advantage is that if you are following an issue you will receive an email when there are any updates - so you don't need to check in with our Frontline team.

In some cases our Frontline team will add you as a follower to an issue or a suggestion for the reasons listed above. You can also follow any page by clicking on 'Follow Reactions' above the gray comment box.
