My domain expired and I can't log in

I'm trying to log in to my nation, but it keeps redirecting me back to my domain which no longer works. Because of this I can't log in to my nation to remove my domain!

Seems like a classic Catch-22!

When you connect a domain to your nation, you can head to the control panel by going to www.domain.com/admin or nationslug.nationbuilder.com/admin.

Either option should land you on a log in screen with the URL

nationslug.nationbuilder.com/forms/user_sessions/new

If your domain is expired, after you enter the correct email and password you may be redirected to your www.domain.com address which will likely be some kind of 404 or error page.

In that same browser session, head back to nationslug.nationbuilder.com/admin. NationBuilder should now read you as "logged in" and take you directly to the control panel.

To disconnect your domain you can go to Settings > Domains > edit your domain > Remove domain.

You may also want to head to your domain registrar (most likely where your purchased your domain) to renew and reactivate.

In the event your account is paused or if you're having another issue troubleshooting an expired domain attached to your nation, you can reach out to our DNS team via [email protected]. Keep in mind that any changes to DNS records need to come from an admin in your nation.
