I've seen some interesting implementations of the FCS, but the one on the NB home page right now is so awesomely fabulous it's in it's own category.

Hi Tim, the slider on the homepage was designed by Jesse using custom CSS and js - we'll let him know you liked it!
You can read more about the slider plugin we use here: http://slidesjs.com/ - there is documentation available there and customization requires knowledge of javascript. You can follow the same logic used in the example on this FAQ explaining how to slow down the speed of the slides. Thanks.
