Sub-page links at top of page (breadcrumbs)

Hi there,

I have looked far and wide but have not found an answer to this question.
Is there a way to turn off display of the sub-page links that appear at the
top of pages? The links are in a cluster at the top of the page. We don't
want them. I was hoping it was a setting but no luck finding it.

Hi Evan,

The code in the template that corresponds to those subpage navigation links is:

{% include "breadcrumbs" %}

I have removed it from the top of the template of your /issues page.

When you go to this page now, you will no longer see those items.

You can do this on any page where you'd like to remove those links.

This is still confusing me. As you use the term “breadcrumbs” does it link to the links indicating the chain of pages e.g. “home > get involved > volunteer” OR the cluster of links for sibling pages? Looking at my site it is unclear how this applies. For example, on a template including breadcrumbs, the " x > y >z "stuff appears but not links to sibling pages.

Never mind I found it. If anyone else runs into this problem you also have to remove breadcrumbs on this page: pages_show_faq.html

Are the breadcrumbs on the FAQs subpages somewhere else in the code? I removed breadcrumbs in the template but they still show up only on these subpages of FAQs.

Aaron, yes, I searched the system for just such a button but to no avail. Perhaps they will integrate it. It isn’t really a standard element. Breadcrumbs typically show your nav path to that page as opposed to functioning like a menu of alternate paths.

I’ve run into this issue with a lot my clients. I feel like there should be a check box in Pages>Settings that removes sub-page menus (breadcrumbs) from your site.

Thanks for the help. I would not have thought to call those breadcrumbs. For me, breadcrumbs are the links above these links. i.e. Home -> Issues Many thanks.
