Tracking Clicks on a Button linking to another website

Google Analytics is working great on our site, with the exception of the
tracking the "Claim Form" button. For some reason, Google Analytics is
not tracking the click rate. It is for the other buttons in the sidebar,
but not the claim form button.

How the "Claim Form" button is setup.... The button links to the page
"claimform" which is a redirect to the PDF file.

We really need to know how many times the "Claim Form" button is clicked.
This will help us get a sense of how many people are downloading the form.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Jen,

This requires a custom code setup because it points to a different domain. It's just one additional line. Read about the technical setup and an explanation.

Once the code is setup and tracking, the data can be found in Google Analytics under Content-->Events. The data can be further broken down into Category/Action/Label as defined in the code.

The additional code gets added to the href of the button, not the general GA tracking code at the bottom of the page.
