Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings

Parliamentarian, Ghana

Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings is currently a Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency in the Republic of Ghana, serving as a member of the Opposition for the National Democratic Congress Party. Committed to environmental activism, and as a strong advocate of inclusivity and empowerment for all people, she serves as a Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Environment, Science and Technology, and the Standing Committee on Gender.

Joining the Ghanaian Parliament in 2017, Zanetor has worked diligently to inspire and lead the empowerment of her constituents and continues to be deeply committed to advancing female empowerment, environmental sustainability, and universal quality education in Ghana. Her current tenure as a Member of Parliament has seen her working alongside constituents and constituency Party executives to sponsor and organize social and community intervention programs, targeting the elderly in poor communities, and the underprivileged. Additionally, she has participated in a number of health and sanitation outreach programs, and food safety campaigns.

Prior to her work in Parliament and public service, Zanetor worked for a decade as a medical doctor, having completed her medical education at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping and Training Centre, and numerous accolades and certificates in the areas of Security and Leadership, from a range of global institutions.

As a Parliamentarian and a respected figure in both the political and medical fields, Zanetor has participated in a number of international political and parliamentary events. She was instrumental in the co-development of a disaster and early-warning mobile application, and additionally in the retrofitting of carbon-reducing implements at a well-known night market in Accra, the research of which was presented at the Triple Helix Conference in Cape Town in 2019.

Zanetor is the proud mother of three daughters.
