Sharing content across sites of a nation?

Having studied your instructions on how to display content from one page on another page, I wonder if the same could be achieved across the various websites of one nation. 
This way of cross-promoting content is quite important to us. Ideally, we'd have a portal page that lists recent posts, events, and activities from across the nation.

    Thanks Lilia, I am aware of those widgets and we’re using one on two of our sites. I guess I’m looking for something bigger and nicer including images used on the pages, etc… Any recommendations?

    Ben, yes it is possible to embed an rss feeds from one site on another. Here is a good example of a widget: http://www.surfing-waves.com/feed.htm
