Creating beautiful websites is getting easier and easier with NationBuilder - we've recently added three new public themes, each with its own set of substyles - and our list of custom theme designers is growing by the week. Our free public themes help nations of any size get up and running in just hours with a professional website connected to a people database, communications tools and rich organizing functionality.

The "BusyBiz" theme by Tectonica is increasingly popular with our customers - far beyond business website use. You can see it live on the Red Point Strategies website and the Qpid.me blog. With more nonprofits and political campaigns choosing BusyBiz, here are guidelines to getting the most from this clean and fresh theme:

"About" text, latest blog posts, signup forms and social media links are featured prominently on the BusyBiz home page.
  • To prevent your site logo from being stretched or distorted, the ideal dimensions are 205px wide and 130px high. Upload your site logo by clicking Websites > Theme > Settings > Logo. If you don't have an application to resize images, you can use the free online tool picresize.com.
  • The images you upload to your Featured Content Sliders should be 490px wide and 439px high. Make sure all your images are exactly the same dimensions.
  • If you upload a background image, it will be resized to fit the users full screen. It should be no smaller than 1024px wide and 768px high to prevent the image from pixelating.
  • If you upload a header image, it should be 980px wide. Uploading a smaller image will cause it to be expanded to 980px.
  • Text you enter in Websites > Settings > Footer will be used next to the homepage signup form.
  • Your page with the slug "join" populates the home page signup form.

A feedback page gives customers, supporters and potential donors and volunteers an easy way to get in touch.
