Clear, well-organized communication can make or break your team’s success. Whether you're managing regional offices, volunteers, or multiple departments, ensuring the right people have the right tools is essential.
That’s why we’re excited to extend Groups functionality to broadcasters—allowing you to control who can access and send messages from specific broadcasters based on their Group. It’s a new, effective way to make communication permissions even more precise.
What are Groups?
Using Groups, you can assign more than one control panel user to different sections of your NationBuilder account. The Groups feature allows you to organize people, websites, and now, communications based on shared traits like region, team, or role.
Note: The Groups feature is only available on Enterprise and Network plans. If you’re interested in discussing which plan is best for your organization, please get in touch.
What’s new?
If you have distributed teams or a complex structure, you know how important it is to keep communication tools organized. Now, in addition to segmenting people and websites by Group, you can do the same with broadcasters. This means you can:
- Assign broadcasters to specific Groups, just like you do with websites and people.
- Control which group can access each broadcaster, so regional teams can only use their own.
- Create clean permission boundaries that reflect your real-world structure.
- Keep your permission architecture consistent across your entire nation.
Who is this for?
Group-based broadcaster access is especially useful if:
- You manage a multi-team structure, like regional offices.
- You work with volunteers and want to safely delegate communication responsibilities.
- Your organization has strict data privacy rules, and you want to limit data exposure.
How to get started
Group-based broadcaster access is available now for customers using groups on Enterprise and Network plans. To set it up:
- Update your permission sets to use “Assigned by group” for Communications permissions.
- Assign the chosen Groups to each broadcaster.
- Make sure team members are assigned to the correct groups.
