One of the most effective ways to protect your account is by using multi-factor authentication (MFA). That’s why we’re excited to announce that MFA is now available in NationBuilder!
This is a significant step toward improving account security and giving you better control over access to your nation. MFA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring an additional verification step during login, making it much harder for unauthorized users to access your account.
We've already started rolling out this feature to some customers, and all nations will be enrolled by February. You’ll be notified before the changes take effect in your nation.
New customizable login page
Your nation login page is getting a fresh new look! The modern login page is customizable, allowing you to reflect your brand and provide a cohesive experience for your users.
Login options and ease of access
When users log in with their email and password, they will be prompted to enroll in MFA using either a verification code via SMS or an authenticator app like Google Authenticator. We’re also introducing social login options with Google, allowing users to save time while leveraging the security of Google’s MFA systems. We will add Microsoft as an option slightly later.
Easy management for your team
With the new Login and Security tab in your nation settings, you can easily manage all MFA configurations in one centralized location. Here, you can make MFA required for Control Panel Users and/or supporters, disable social login, and decide if users can create an account. Each profile in your nation also has a new Login and Security tab, enabling your team to assist supporters with their account access.
Easy management for your supporters
Supporters can now manage their account details, including updating their login email, resetting their password, and configuring their security settings, directly in the supporter portal. This gives them full control over their account without needing to contact your team.
Security is our top priority, and MFA is a powerful tool to keep your account safe. By requiring a second verification step, we make it significantly harder for unauthorized users to access your account, even if they somehow obtain your password or device.
