This is helpful (I’ve already used this technique multiple times, copying for various buttons) but it would be really nice if the editor supported this the same way it’s supported for email blasts in the email editor.

This was a nice to have until Facebook started turning off application access. This is now a critical requirement to get the same functionality that syncing of connected Facebook events provided. We don’t really care that NationBuilder RSVPs aren’t synced to Facebook, but just tagging and adjusting the count leaves out social capital and the activity trail.
