It would be useful to see when calling (both in call mode and printed lists) who other members of the household are, to reduce duplicated voter ID calls. Right now, I’m reduced to using a single “person” to represent a household with both names in the first name field. This is inelegant, especially when there are different last names. Ideally, each individual would still be separate, with some way to associate them, and then some way in the interface to indicate if there are other individuals in the same household. In call / walking interface areas, roll up information to represent a household entity, with, eg, aggregate total amount donated.

Another nice touch from a supporter side would be to rsvp for other household members on event pages.

Make sure to support arbitrary numbers of people in a household, not just two.

While not an ideal situation interface-wise, you can do this by typing the NB id in the URL, e.g.

I really like your idea of co-branded support, Jim. NB’s great for me right now since I’m in-house in the campaign, but I can imagine things might be a little rougher if I were working as an outside consultant – which I intend to do in the future.

Alternately, creating an iGoogle addon for some of the dashboard notifications would work really nicely. I set up iGoogle and Google Apps for all of my organizations to create custom web-wide dashboards for monitoring news, social media accounts, and the variety of other web apps we use. Now that I’m adding NB to my toolkit, this would be really nice to have.

An interesting implementation of this might be with GET variables in the URL, like the way Google Analytics handles campaign, keyword and medium sources. This would require crafting separate URLs for twitter, Facebook, and anything else you would want to track.

Here’s an update on this thread… Trying to import IDs into a list. I have a CSV with nationbuilder_ids and state_file_ids of people who are already in my database – I’m just trying to import them to a list based on search criteria I queried offline. However, when I’m trying to map the fields on the import, state_file_id is not one of the fields available in the drop down, and when I try mapping only nation_builder_ids, it says that that is not sufficient to make a match. So, 2 issues to report:
1) state_file_id is not a field option
2) unique matching should only require a nationbuilder_id

I agree – tags are great and fit the semantic scope of identifying a subset of individuals in a nation. The feature request was for a way to relate an icon or other sort of visual flag to a tag to make it stand out to staff members in the control panel.

So, my immediate need for this was just lessened when I came across , but I still think this would be a useful feature for being able to search individuals, not just pulling tracking data.
