RE: NB generated Social Media URLs

1. Is there a way to nix the NB generated URL that pops up for social media boxes? Tweets look wicked cumbersome with it in particular + it limits my character count = #Annoying

2. Is NB planning to use truncated URLs in the future? e.g. HuffPo, C-SPAN? It would be super convenient and dare I say hip?

It's possible to totally deactivate the social media sharing prompt, but it's not possible to remove the URL.

It's worth noting, however, that including the full URL for the page does not negatively affect your character count in your tweets — at least not any more than any other URL would. Twitter automatically alters a URL of any length to 20 characters, even if the link itself is less than 20 characters long, as part of its t.co URL shortening service

On their website — and on their mobile clients — Twitter will display your original URL (or a shortened version of it) within the tweet. Third-party Twitter clients may display the tweet differently (including showing it as a t.co URL).

Since Twitter already offers built-in support for long URLs via their t.co URL shortening service, NationBuilder is not planning to support third-party URL shorteners at this time.
