Fundraising work can feel unglamorous and overwhelming. You’re building a movement, you’re changing public opinion, you’re promoting, you’re educating, you’re creating, and… it all costs money.
This is why in 2025, NationBuilder invested deeply into the maintenance and modernization of our payment processing infrastructure to give organizations like yours the security and adaptability needed to fundraise effectively. We revamped our donation page, upgraded our payment collection architecture, and offered more flexibility to organizations and the donors who support them.
And with 40% of all online donations now coming from mobile devices, we also prioritized mobile-friendly payment options.
Giving donors more options
Our default donation forms are now equipped with a new payment processing element that supports credit card payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and - in the UK - Bacs Direct Debit processing, as well as allowing for one-time, monthly, and annual donations all from a single page. These updates give donors the flexibility to choose how, and how often, they want to offer their support.
We’ve also made it faster and easier for donors to process a payment by:
- simplifying the Apple Pay and Google Pay giving flow to a single submission step
- allowing donors who don’t have a current employer to quickly circumvent the submission of employer and occupation details
- providing donors with clear feedback as their bank verifies their transaction in real time
These changes let donors think less about the process involved in making their contribution, and more about how far you can make their contribution go.
Extending discounted non-profit rates to more regions
If you work in the non-profit or charitable sector, you know that every gift counts, no matter the amount. With this in mind, this year we extended our offering of non-profit rates to organizations in the United Kingdom and Australia, ensuring that every donation can go that much further.
