You can now use paths in conjunction with permission sets to give control panel users granular access to your database. This is useful for the wide range of situations in which you’ll need to assign tasks and distribute responsibility across your team.   

Imagine you are coordinating volunteers for a phone bank. In order to clarify who’s responsible for calling whom, you’ll assign voters on the “Volunteer calls” step to different volunteers. You can then define permissions so that volunteers will only see the profiles that are individually assigned to them.

Here's what paths view would look to a control panel user without the “assigned” permission activated.
