I would love to allow my donors to tag their contribution as “anonymous.” Or give me another arbitrary checkbox. I’ll use that to populate (for example) a directory of donors-who-aren’t-anonymous

This is VERY important to us – not being able to show that we can make a donor/donation anonymous can cost us money; we have donors who will not give if we can’t assure them that the donation will remain anonymous. We also would like to be able to keep anonymous donations invisible to our lower tiers of permission sets.

Hi Valerie, since NationBuilder is a people centered database every action has to be tied to a person. If you are manually entering donations you can consider creating a ‘person’ called Anonymous and enter the donations under that name.

I’d love to see a simple checkbox for “Anonymous Donation.” Even better – if there was a way to keep anonymous donations truly anonymous depending up on the permission set (e.g. a permission subset under view Donations)

Because of the information the payment processors need you need to gather the donor’s name. However, you do not need to publish that person’s donation as anonymous on your front facing website if that helps.
