What benefits will we receive from the Solutions Partner program?
As a member of the partner program, you will receive:
- 30% share of the quarterly Net Revenue we receive from each new customer that you refer to NationBuilder who becomes a Qualified Sale (for the first 12 months of their paid subscription)
- Dedicated contact at NationBuilder for sales and product strategy support
- Prioritized technical customer support
- Co-marketing and joint sales opportunities
- Listing in our Partner Directory, where you can advertise your agency’s services to the thousands of existing NationBuilder customers
- Access to Partner Portal which includes a number of free resources that equip you to both pitch the NationBuilder platform to Prospects (referral playbook, boilerplate pitch deck, etc), as well as help implement it (self-guided video training courses)
- Access to exclusive Slack community for ecosystem partners
- Early access to beta features and product roadmap insights
How does the referral commission work?
For every Prospect you register with NationBuilder that is approved and converts from a free trial to a Qualified Sale, we will send you a 30% share of their Net Revenue every month for the first 12 months of their subscription. We handle all the billing and collections, and then deposit your share to your bank account.
If a Qualified Sale upgrades their plan (e.g. from Starter to Pro), gets moved to a higher pricing tier (e.g. by growing their email list), or purchases any add-ons (except texting) — the dollar amount of your commission payout will grow as well. If they cancel their NationBuilder subscription, you will no longer receive commission for that customer.
How can I ensure that we get credit for new trial referrals?
You must register each Prospect with us using the form in your Partner Portal. To register a Prospect, you can use the lead submission form. We will notify you within five business days if the Registered Prospect does not qualify for referral commission.
You will provide the Registered Prospect with the personal referral tracking link you received when you signed up to be a Solutions Partner. The Registered Prospect has one month to sign up for a free trial of the Platform and 14 business days thereafter to convert to a paying customer which makes them a Qualified Sale on which commissions are payable..
If a Registered Prospect does not sign up for a NationBuilder trial before your deal registration expires (one month), you will need to complete the registration process again in order to re-qualify for commission. Exceptions will be made if the Prospect starts their free trial through your personal tracking link after deal registration expiration.
In cases where a Prospect does not use your tracking link to start their free trial, and the information they provide during setup doesn’t exactly match the information submitted by you during deal registration, we may request evidence that the Prospect was referred to NationBuilder by you or your team.
What if my referral is still an active client after 12 months?
If after 12 months you’re still working with the organization you referred and they are still an active and paid Qualified Sale, extended commission payout terms may be considered at NationBuilder’s sole discretion.
What if my client is an existing NationBuilder customer?
Only new Registered Prospects qualify for the Solutions Partner referral commission. However, if your client is on one of our self-serve plans (e.g. Starter/Pro), and you believe they could benefit from the features and services available through an Enterprise or Network contract, contact us about collaborating on an upsell, and we can provide a custom commission structure for closed deals.
Can I earn commission for referring Enterprise customers?
The Solutions Partnership Program is specifically set for standard customers (i.e. Starter & Pro). However we also have an Enterprise Affiliate program where you can earn commission on referrals of new Enterprise customers. If you would be interested in exploring this, please contact [email protected]
Can we instead pay for NationBuilder directly, and then bill our clients for that software cost (e.g. alongside our other services)?
Yes, this would fall into our Alliance Program. If you want to pay for NationBuilder on your clients’ behalf, please contact [email protected] to discuss custom Alliance partner plans.
We’re in a similar partnership with a NationBuilder competitor and/or similar product — is that a problem?
That’s a-okay! Solutions Partners are not required to exclusively refer their clients to NationBuilder. We want you to be able to offer your clients a menu of software recommendations -- and then steer them in whichever direction you believe will best meet their needs (as well as your own needs).
