Perseverance Through Adversity: 2018 Women of Courage
The Secretary of State's Annual International Women of Courage Award recognizes women from around the globe who have demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for peace, human rights, women's empowerment and more. Often at great personal risk, these women have chosen to dedicate their lives to bettering our world.
This year's recipients hail from four continents. They are leaders in promoting women's rights, pioneers in strengthening religious and ethnic diversity in politics, and advocates for victims of gender-based violence and marginalization. Help us welcome these women to Los Angeles and celebrate their outstanding commitment to advancing social justice around the world.
