I need a carbon copy of the very same confirmation email that is sent to the donor, with the receipt and everything, for verification purposes. The election commission has clearly indicated to me that this is not optional. We cannot simply download the PDF of the receipt. We need to be CC’d on every donation autoresponse email that is sent out. How can we make this happen?
This is totally possible, though it requires you to also receive incoming email in your nation.
Each autoresponse is sent from an email address associated with a broadcaster. If that broadcaster is receiving incoming email, you can bcc a copy of every email (except blasts) sent by that email address.
What you need to do is update the settings on your broadcaster to email (bcc) you a copy of every email. This means that future donation receipts will be also be emailed to your organization. This also means that all autoresponses will be sent to you as well. Unfortunately, there is no way to limit the functionality to just donation autoresponses.
Update the setting at: Communication > [Broadcaster name] > Settings > Email > check the box next to "Receive incoming email for this address," then you will be able to check the box next to "bcc [email address] on all outgoing emails (but not blasts)." Click the "Save broadcaster" button to save your changes.
Note that when using a third-party email provider, you need to forward your email to actually receive incoming email.
If you would like to change which broadcaster is sending the donation autoresponse email, that can be done in the autoresponse settings for the donation page. Moving forward, you can also change which broadcaster is chosen by default. Go to Site settings > Broadcaster (drop-down menu). This will change functionality for pages created after the setting is changed; it will have no affect on existing pages.
