Moderating Comments

Is there a way to moderate comments on pages so that they must be approved by an admin before they are posted publicly?

Comments are automatically displayed in the page stream once they have been submitted. Rule-violating comments can be flagged on the public site for moderation. To quickly view all recent comments in your nation, you can sort the Dashboard by activity type "Comment."

    Cathy – it is not possible to moderate comments as you know – you can view them as described above but you cannot view them before they are posted. If there are any updates we will post them on this suggestion – http://nationbuilder.com/glottus/moderate_content

    You are more than welcome to keep up the discussion there! We definitely aren’t ignoring this request – we are aware of it’s importance. I would love to give you a timeline but I am unfortunately unable to.

    The question has NOT been answered. We need the ability to moderate comments prior to publication. This is not a technical challenge for you to implement, but NationBuilder seems to obstinately avoid any meaningful discussion about how and when we will be given this capability. It is essential.

    Moderating posts should be a priority when you dealing with political posts. things get nasty and you have no control over who posts what. It is published then you moderate not good.

    Sebastián — Comments are published immediately. You can moderate them after they’re published by either (a) flagging them on the public site or (b) moderating them within the control panel.

    So can comments be flagged before being posted publicly? or are they simply flagged, and published regardless?

    Also, how do you setup such rules? When setting up a new rule it simply asks for name and content.

    One of our supporters said that she needed to log in with Twitter or Facebook to comment, and that she didn’t have either account. How can I approve her comments with her logging in by password?
