On the settings page for the donation type page, I'm not able to check the box "show sidebar". The box is greyed out.
Also, by default it doesn't show the top navigation menu.
Is there a reason the donation page template doesn't show the top nav menu or sidebar?
(Is it perhaps because there wouldn't be room for the form to have two columns?)
Before I go about customizing the donation page template I was wondering if there's an easier way to get the top nav and sidebar to show.

As Scott mentioned in the comments, the sidebar and topnav selection boxes are greyed out and prevented from being displayed on the front-facing site in an effort to avoid possible security issues. they also tend to serve as distractions, and as our staged donation pages have demonstrated, less distractions on the page = more donations statistically made.
