We’re fiercely committed to helping our customers succeed.

Pricing plans are changing on May 30, 2016

Existing customers paying on a monthly basis who are not on a current pricing plan will be automatically upgraded to the Leader plan and gain access to the current version of NationBuilder on May 30, 2016.

If nation admins do nothing, the next bill received on or after May 30 will reflect Leader plan pricing based on the number of people in your database. All previous pricing plans are being deprecated. You can save money by paying annually. You can gain access to more features and gain strategic support by upgrading to the Organization plan.

Customers on contracts will not be automatically moved to the Leader plan until their contracts expire. If you would like access to the new features, it is possible to upgrade to a plan now. Nations created after September 21, 2015 are not affected.

This upgrade includes new features

Our biggest upgrade ever includes major new features that represent the beginning of a whole new way to use NationBuilder. They’ll align your entire team around priorities for leading people to action:

Leader plan for long-time customers

As a valued, long-time customer, the features used by the nation on May 16, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. PDT will remain active when the nation is upgraded to the Leader plan. Certain features are usually only available to people on other plans, but will remain available with some limitations. Details on how the upgrade affects your nation are available in your control panel at Settings > Billing.

The Organization plan includes:

  • A community strategist helps develop and update plans to meet your goals.
  • Get big picture advice tailored to your needs from a community strategist.
  • 10 action websites.

There are limitations to the long-time customer Leader plan

Features that were used by a nation at 11:59 p.m. May 16, 2016 will remain active with some limitations. Only the features that were active before this announcement will be available on the Leader plan and with more limitations than if you upgrade to the Organization plan. Here is a full list of how the limitations work:

The Leader plan does not include access to a community strategist. Our support team will help troubleshoot specific problems, but we will not be able to help you develop a holistic plan for using your nation to accomplish your goals.

If memberships were being used:

  • All existing membership data is retained.
  • New members can be added.
  • No new membership types can be created.

If more than 2 websites existed:

  • Current websites will remain fully functional.
  • New websites cannot be created.

If calendars accepting user-submitted events exist:

  • Existing calendars accepting public submissions will be maintained.
  • When a new calendar page is created, it will not be able to accept public submissions.

If page publication, email blasts, text blasts, or social media posts are scheduled:

  • Currently scheduled content will be released as scheduled.
  • No new scheduling can occur.

If phone numbers exist in the nation:

  • The phone number(s) will remain in the nation, along with the ability to receive voicemail.
  • New phone numbers cannot be created.

If text messaging is being used by the nation:

  • The nation can continue to use text keywords to receive texts.
  • The nation can continue to send text blasts.
  • The nation will continue to pay for texting as an add-on to their monthly plan.

If there are custom permission sets:

  • The current number of custom permission sets will be maintained.
  • New permission sets cannot be created.

If the nation is sharing data with other nations using tag sharing:

  • Existing tag shares will be supported.
  • New tag shares cannot be created within the nation.
  • The nation can continue to receive information via tag share.

If there are active API tokens in the nation:

  • Existing API tokens will be honored.
  • New API tokens cannot be created.

If the nation is sharing custom themes with other nations:

  • Existing custom theme shares will be honored.
  • New theme shares cannot be created.
